Where The Magic Happens

Dancing has been a part of Craig’s family for decades – from his grandparents to his parents. He grew up in a dance studio that his parents had in England. He started competing from age six and has been fortunate enough to win a couple of world titles and travel around the world teaching dance. Needless to say, Craig and his family LOVE DANCE!! In England, dancing was basically just something that they did for fun in the evenings. However, in America, dancing is a real industry. The American people love to dance, which allows them (Craig & his family) to do their passion day in & day out. They originally came from Florida, but an opportunity brought them here to Texas, so here they are!

Craig and his family own the franchises here in North Dallas. They have two locations: one in Plano and one in McKinney. They help each other run both studios day in day out, and have a super established team of qualified professionals that teach in both locations.

Classes Available

Dance Visions Studio McKinney does everything from classic ballroom (e.g. waltzes, the tangos, the foxtrots) to the Latin (e.g. salsa, merengue, bachata). They also teach disco, Hustle, and the four different types of swing, (single time, lindy hop, west coast swing, east coast swing). They do a whole range of things outside of just social dancing. Students in the studio will often go on trips, compete in dance competitions, and perform in dance shows. These activities are not only for couples, but for singles as well. Craig has many single dancers who join in on the fun and learn all types of dances.

The Team McKinney wall showcases some of their students and the fun events that they’ve been doing recently. They have dinner dances, competitions, fun team matches, themed parties, and more.

In one corner of the studio, they have a little dance store. Just like any other activity, dancing has things that are required. For example, if you’re going to play tennis, you can’t use a frying pan, but it’s better to use a tennis racket. In this store, DVS has dance shoes, sparkly dresses for the ladies who love them, and sparkly shirts for some gentlemen too.

The studio also has a wedding wall that has been recently implemented. Since wedding dances are a big part of what Dance Vision offers, (i.e. father-daughter dances, first dances, or mother-son dances) after the big day, couples are given the opportunity to send them some photos afterwards to display on the wedding wall.

And of course! Dance Vision Studios’ main studio: the ballroom – where the magic happens! This is where they conduct their private lessons, group lessons, and practice parties. From morning to night, you’ll find this place buzzing full of people.

What Makes Them Different?

Firstly, whenever you come to a Dance Vision studio, no matter who you are on the floor with – whether it’s an owner, manager, or teacher – they are ALL professionally qualified. Every single person within those walls knows how to teach and knows the professional syllabus. Not only is your dancing safe, but your body and your health, too. They provide an end-to-end solution to get you where you’re going.

A lot of people come to Dance Vision because they’ve had other experiences from an eight-week series of group classes from other dance studios. Craig mentions. They would say, “Well, I didn’t really feel like I learned how to dance.” The reality is: those group classes are fun, all group classes are fun. But being able to offer a private lesson, a group lesson, and a practice party solution for our students means that we can give them personalized time to learn what they really need to learn. A group lesson gives time to interact, practice, and practice. A practice party gives students an opportunity to really put it out there without an instructor alongside them. Students, especially those who dance alone, want to get better and improve. Students at Dance Vision are also allowed to record a video of themself while they are dancing in order to remember what they are needing to work on before the next private lesson.
